March 8th is International Womxn’s Day – and our #activators Katharina Hoffmann & Stephanie Platt have filed an official protest (run) with the authorities of the city of Berlin to draw attention to the fact that womxn, inter-, non-binary & agender people do not move at night as carefree as cis-men.
As refugees, they are particularly at risk of becoming victims of violence, especially sexual violence and human trafficking.
For this reason the planned IWD PROTEST RUN will also be in the spirit of solidarity with Ukraine.
Cheryl White will speak at the opening of the event about how the war does not make the struggle for equality any less important. However, we also cannot ignore the situation of the people affected by the war.
Conflict situations may be very different, but what they all have in common is the unequal treatment of womxn. Be it fleeing from Ukraine, the situation of womxn in Afghanistan, who are restricted in their rights or womxn who are being harassed when they go running at night.
THIS MUST STOP!
THE WAR
THE VIOLENCE
THE INEQUALITY
THE INJUSTICE
THE HARASSMENT
THE FEAR
We reclaim the night and run for a peaceful world. In thoughts with all Ukrainians.
Everybody is welcome to lace up their running shoes and join in.
